The Orange County Theatre Organ Society (OCTOS) Event Schedule
February 3, 2017
To all friends of OCTOS, and the theatre organ family... We have some very sad news to report.
Our dear friend, Bob Trousdale passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at 8:30 PM. Many of you know of Bob's dedication to our community. He was heavily involved in restoring the Plummer Auditorium Wurlitzer Organ and assisted many organ repairs around the US and abroad over the years. He made huge donations of his time to both Plummer's Wurlitzer as well as countless organs all over the world. Many organs have his relay installed even today.
As owner of the Trousdale Organ Co., Bob invented and installed his electronic relay system ("The Trousdale Relay") that is installed on the Plummer Wurlitzer and other theatre organs throughout the country. The relay enables the organs to operate more efficiently and record exact performances by artists.
He was an amazing friend and dedicated lover of the Theatre Organ, many may not know this but he played his Steinway piano brilliantly and lit up whilst he played (see link below).
Here at OCTOS we can never forget the gifts he gave us all. As a result of his efforts, we are left with a beautiful instrument that has been well loved by all the volunteers, and appreciated by the countless audiences; as well as many lovely connections with the wonderful people involved with the theatre organ restoration.
Bob's request was we all celebrate his great life with a special Open Console event to take place at Plummer Auditorium in his memory.
Bob has left behind his two sons Dave and Bill, and their familes, and plenty of grand children. He and his joyous smile will be sorely missed by everyone.
We will be providing the details for this event soon. Please keep checking back.
Until soon, best to all.
Enjoy this video of Bob playing the piano June, 2014.
